"Shower Thoughts", Dustin Wong

shower thoughts
-
see / we all have bad days / mine hits me in the face like a shower
which is to say / everyday / so forgive me if i don't want to leave my shower
-
i spent an hour / staring at the soap bar / i couldn't bear to touch
my skin / must've spent an hour / trying to melt it in the shower
-
have you ever mixed your soaps / once / i tried to swallow them whole
trying to clean / what was dirty / isn't this why we go into the shower
-
now i am a fish / staring blankly as water punches me / in the face
i am dreaming of oceans / pooling at my feet / mixing with tiles in the shower
-
there are no cuts here / pantene rushes over copper / over bruises
if you close your eyes / nothing is broken / everything is alright / in the shower
-
i like to pretend / i am a construct / no past / or present / whatever
i am nothing noises / pitter patter / me / myself / the shower
